The Recession don’t stop the Online Gambling!
While most industries in the world are trying to figure out ways to cope with the global recession, the online gambling industry is wondering what all of the fuss is about. In the face of an economic meltdown, the Internet gaming industry simply continues to grow and prosper.
According to the Global Betting and Gaming Consultants, online gambling is not only alive and well, but is actually becoming larger. The company’s new Interactive Gambling Report shows just how prosperous the industry has become.
In 2008, the total global interactive gross gambling yield went over the $20 billion mark. Ironically, the group attributed this growth to the recession.
With people staying home more often, they are turning to Internet gambling for their entertainment these days.
While that figure is staggering in itself, the future of the industry could become even more eye popping. France has recently opened their arms to Internet gambling companies from outside their country, and the US may soon do the same.
Representative Barney Frank will be introducing new legislation in the US government that would eliminate the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act and legalize and regulate Internet gambling. Experts believe if that was to happen that the $20 billion yield could double.
Value was another reason listed as to why Internet gambling is growing. Most online players can receive large bonuses that double, and sometimes triple, their starting balance. That gives them the chance to play for longer on their minimal deposits.
